The University of Derby is offering a return to practice course for those interested in getting back into diagnostic radiography.
The course will allow applicants to re-establish clinical competency in a range of radiographic techniques and diagnostic imaging procedures, and allow to work safely within the current health care environment.
The course is scheduled to start next month (March 2016) so there is only have a short window in which to apply.

If successful in their application, candidates will be required to:
• Attend 2 study days in March and then another day in April for a ‘baseline assessment’ in the x-ray room in the clinical skills suite.
• Attend a ‘back to base’ day at the University in April or May.
• Radiographers who have been out of practice for more than 5 years - Carry out a minimum clinical attendance of 340 hours (roughly 9 weeks full time or 18 weeks part time).
• Radiographers who have been out of practice for 2-5 years - Carry out a minimum clinical attendance requirement of 115 hours (approximately 3 weeks full time or 6 weeks part time).
Both the academic and clinical placement components of the course must be completed within 6 months of the course start date.
