The Society’s health and safety reps can earn a high quality recognised qualification that will help them improve the workplace for members.
Even better, there are no fees or costs for participating reps.
“Late last year we put out the first call for accredited reps to apply for the TUC diploma,” Ian Cloke, the Society’s health and safety officer, said.
“We had a good response but there are a few places available. The course will start in September,” Ian continued.
“It normally costs close to £2000 but the Society is paying for suitably qualified reps to take the diploma at no cost to them.
“This is a great opportunity for experienced union H&S reps to obtain a recognised qualification and increase their support for members, as well as provide them with the tools and knowledge to further improve their workplace.”

It is a year-long programme delivered over three terms and successful candidates will receive the TUC Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. The course is recognised for entry into the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety at the Tech Sp grade.
