Delegates from across the country attended the 2 day pilot course Managing under pressure: Essential skills for tomorrow’s leaders at the Hillscourt Conference Centre in Birmingham.

The day was delivered by officers from the Trade Union and Industrial Relations and Professional and Educational teams at the SCoR.

This interactive course allowed delegates to explore some common workplace industrial relations and professional issues with tips and resources to assist them in their roles as managers, with much of the focus on partnership working and consultation.

Delegates also discussed professional issues, exploring what it means to be a professional and how as a manager they can create and maintain a culture of professionalism.

The guest speaker, Penny Owens, Imaging General Manager at Derby Teaching Hospitals, gave a well received and fascinating talk sharing her experiences and offering practical advice and tips on managing radiology and radiotherapy services in today’s challenging environment.
