Asking delegates to challenge perceptions that NHS leaders only exist in nursing or medicine, SoR past president Karen Smith proposed Motion 44 on behalf of UK Council at this year's Annual Delegates Conference in Leeds.
“We want to ensure that AHPs are supported in their leadership ambitions across the UK,” Karen said.
“Organisations that invested in senior leadership more frequently share AHP innovations that have a positive impact on patients’ and system outcomes. The more senior an AHP leader, the more engaged AHPs are in improvement work,” she explained.
“Increasing AHPs’ contribution to transformation could go a long way towards solving the challenges across health and social care.”
The motion was carried.
