Radiographer given six-month suspension by HCPC

A radiographer has been struck off the HCPC register for six months on grounds of misconduct whilst working at Barking and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

An HCPC panel heard that Ms Yogini Rajoo was the subject of complaints from three patients for addressing them in a rude and unprofessional manner.

The incidents included telling one patient and her family to “stop their childish behavior” and telling another patient they “need a hearing aid”.

Panel Chair Rachel O’Connell commented: “The Panel has evidence that Ms Rajoo’s conduct had a detrimental impact on the patients involved and their families.

“This type of professional conduct towards individuals who are looking for compassionate and sensitive treatment during an intimate assessment procedure would undermine the confidence which the public has in this profession, such as to warrant a finding of impairment.”

Ms Rajoo was not present nor represented at the hearing.
