SoR accredited industrial relations, health and safety and learning reps are invited to apply for a fund to attend an ACAS workplace mediation course in their local area.
The Bryan Macey Award is a SoR-sponsored union learning fund that help reps to develop their personal skills and knowledge. The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work towards the Certificate in Internal Workplace Mediation, which has been developed by ACAS.
The five-day course will give the winning rep the skills and strategies he or she needs to successfully mediate in their own workplace.
Applications are invited from accredited IR, H&S and UL reps who:
- Have already completed an SoR reps’ induction course;
- Have a track record of being an active rep; and
- Can describe how the course will benefit both themselves and the SoR.
Candidates should outline in their application their reasons for applying for the award, how they will share what they learn and how they envisage it helping in the workplace.
The deadline for applications is 25 August 2017, with the successful candidate selected in September.
