The soothing tones of the Society's president, Sue Webb, and CEO Richard Evans, were heard across the UK on BBC national and local radio during the week before and after World Radiography Day.

They were raising awareness of the vital role of radiography and encouraging people to consider it as a career option.

Sue and Richard covered 13 different stations on the day, reaching more than 5million listeners. They also pre-recorded content for eight stations and were heard by 1.4m more across the UK.

Topics covered in the interviews included the workforce shortage, Brexit implications for healthcare, developments in the profession, and how to become a radiographer.

Many of the interviews lasted in excess of seven minutes, giving ample time to detail the importance of the Society's work supporting the profession and to explain both diagnostic and therapeutic radiography.
