Supporting Return to Practice

It is hoped that a pilot project to encourage Return to Practice in the East Midlands may be rolled out across England if it proves a success.

Called Allied Health Professions: Supporting Return to Practice across the East Midlands, five radiographer returner posts are being funded in the region. The funding up to £2000 is spread between the returnee, placement and Derby University.

Paul Chapman, the return to practice lead for the area, said, “I read with interest on the SCoR’s Return to Practice web page the difficulties some returnees have in gaining placements or navigating their way back in to practice.

“This is a problem across the AHP family. In the East Midlands we want to support returnees, therefore the project is encouraging local providers to engage with the process.”

An Health Education England initiative, Paul is hoping that any learning gathered from the East Midlands project will be shared across the country.
