The Lego open MRI

Senior MRI radiographer Apollo Exconde has designed an idea that could help make the MRI scanning experience less daunting for first time, young, plus-sized and anxious patients.

The Lego open MRI idea is designed to show patients at the earliest possible stage what will happen during the MRI process to eliminate any misconceptions or worries they may have.

The Lego figure will be positioned with a wide, unobstructed view so the patient can see how it’ll look when they are being scanned, how far their head will go through and make it easier to answer any questions the patient may have.

To make this vision a reality, Apollo needs 1000 people to register to the Lego website and case a supporting vote.

By creating a Lego account with your email, it will equate to one vote to help the Lego open MRI become a reality.

If 1000 support votes are received, Lego will consider taking the idea forward.

Apollo is also hoping to create a presentation of how this will help patients get through an MRI.
