Final stage: Advanced Clinical Practice apprenticeship standard out for consultation

The Department for Education has launched the final public consultation on the draft apprenticeship standard for advanced clinical practitioners (ACP).

Members are urged to share their comments and feedback to the consultation before the deadline – Monday 11 September.

Charlotte Beardmore, Director of Professional Policy at the Society said: “It is still challenging to find the ideal fit of the standards in relation to the roles currently undertaken by radiographers at an ACP level.

“We recognise the challenge which exists in developing and enabling the ACP standard to meet the needs of the wider workforce. 

“It is positive to note the addition of ‘defined’ episodes of clinical care and for prescribing to be ‘where it fits’ with the scope of practice. 

“We would be interested to see the correlation of responses received from each profession against the ‘fitness of the standard’ in supporting ACP.”
