The SoR has opened its pay consultation for the NHS 2025-2026 pay award to eligible members in Wales.
Members will receive an email with a link to the survey this week. If it has not been received, please contact the SoR at [email protected].
Earlier this year, the SoR welcomed the news of the pay award, which was announced as part of the NHS Pay Review Body (PRB) report. As part of its roll-out, NHS staff in Wales will receive a 3.6 per cent pay increase backdated to April 2025. Payments are expected to begin from August.
Revised pay scales for 2025/36 will apply from 1 April 2025, and included details as follows:
UK Council have recommended acceptance of this 3.6 per cent pay award as it is above inflation.
Jeremy Miles MS, cabinet secretary for health and social care in the Welsh Government, said: “I am pleased to announce I have accepted the recommendations made by the NHS Pay Review Body (NHSPRB). I would like to extend my thanks to all NHS staff for their ongoing dedication and hard work. Your commitment to providing exceptional care and services is truly appreciated.”
Government has also committed to a fully funded mandate for structural reform of the Agenda for Change pay banding scheme.
The SoR will continue to pursue a commitment from the government for pay restoration and inflation-proof awards.
SoR members working in the NHS in Wales can indicate whether they accept the award or not by completing the survey.
The consultation period will run from 24 June until 4 July 2025.
