The Society of Radiographers has entered into a new arrangement for personal injury cases with Anthony Gold Solicitors, one of London’s long‑established, top‑tier legal firms.

All SoR trade union members will be covered by this new arrangement, and will continue to receive 100 per cent compensation for any successful work-related injury claims that are undertaken.

The Society chose Anthony Gold to represent its members on personal injury as the firm combines specialist expertise with a compassionate, client‑centred service. Their injury and medical claims team has been repeatedly recognised for excellence, including receiving the Catastrophic Injury Team of the Year award and multiple shortlistings for national personal injury awards.

'Delighted and honoured'

An important aspect of any arrangement for the Society of Radiographers was an overview of injury trends for its members and a review of cases as they progressed through the system. The arrangement with Anthony Gold enables this to continue after a successful and longstanding arrangement with Howard Kennedy Solicitors.

A spokesperson for Anthony Gold said: “We are delighted and honoured to have been selected by the society to work for its members in their work-related personal injury claims. We are fighting hard for our clients and are proud of the excellent results we achieve for them. We are looking forward to doing the same for members of the Society.”

A successful work‑related personal injury claim requires proving that:

  • A duty of care existed
  • The employer breached that duty
  • Breach caused the injury
  • There has been actual harm or financial loss
  • There is strong evidence and compliance with reporting and time limits

By documenting the incident carefully, seeking medical help and demonstrating negligence through evidence, there is a significant increase in the likelihood of securing fair compensation.

Proven experties and commitment

Dean Rogers, SoR executive director of industrial strategy, said: “Following a thorough selection process, we are confident that Anthony Gold Solicitors is the right partner to support our members in personal injury claims. They are arguably England and Wales’s leading personal injury specialists with proven expertise, an excellent track record and a strong commitment to client care, which align closely with the standards we at SoR expect for our members.

“Perhaps most importantly for SoR members, the arrangements will hardly change from those that have served us so well with Howard Kennedy for many years. We remain proactively engaged in cases at every stage, advising and supporting our solicitors and acting as a liaison between the member and the firm. This has helped contribute to the many positive results achieved for members, where we have progressed claims, winning more than £1.5m in settlements for members since 2020.

“We are also delighted that the arrangements allow for Elizabeth Smith and her team at Howard Kennedy to continue supporting the live cases already with them before her eventual, well-earned retirement.”

The SoR’s health and safety policy officer, Rhys Martin, added: “The Society is delighted that we will continue to work side by side on personal injury cases with a firm as renowned as Anthony Gold Solicitors. It is important for the union to have an overview of personal injury cases and trends to see where the union needs to provide more targeted work around unsafe workplaces and practices.

“If you feel you have a potential successful work-related personal injury claim then please do contact us as outlined on our website (suggest process to do this link inserted here). This will enable us to send you a personal injury form to be completed. When you complete your form please include as much information as possible and any useful supporting information.

“Before a personal injury at work claim can be progressed against an employer we need to consider how likely it is that the injury was foreseeable and hence avoidable by the employer. A claim must also be submitted within three years of the alleged injury or date of knowledge of the injury, so please do not delay and send us in a completed form as soon as possible.”
