NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care are seeking examples of intervention and innovation for frailty and dementia.
Members are being encouraged to submit any evidence they have of best practice for frailty and dementia care before Friday 8 May – for example, DXA services and one stop dementia imaging.
The request comes as part of the development of a Modern Service Framework (MSF) for Frailty and Dementia, and is open to projects at all stages of maturity, including interventions that are already delivering impact, or programmes which are no longer active.
Sue Johnson, professional officer for clinical imaging at the SoR, said: “It is important that diagnostics are included in the framework to ensure a complete pathway of care is commissioned for patients, radiographers and associated professionals working in frailty or dementia are well placed to promote innovative services or interventions which could make a big difference to patients if rolled out at scale as part of a modern service framework.”
Evidence will be accepted from across health, social care and other relevant sectors, with particular attention paid to examples with measurable improvements to quality of care.
Interventions could be directed at service models – such as pathway transformations and delivery approaches – or more specific. Interventions and innovations should support the three shifts in the 10 Year Health Plan: hospital to community; treatment to prevention; and analogue to digital.
Submissions should relate to examples of health and adult social care interventions or innovations that cover:
