The Ultrasound Covid-19 FAQs guidance document has been updated in response to on-going developments and guidance, to provide support during these challenging times.

The Ultrasound Covid-19 FAQshave been amended to include section 5.3 on private providers’ role during the pandemic for obstetric ultrasound scans. Additional mitigations have been added to the chart on pages 10 and 11 to assist in the safety for all, when risk assessing to enable a support person to attend obstetric ultrasound examinations.


On 16 December 2020 Suzanne Rastrick, Chief Allied Health Professions Officer (CAHPO) for England, and Joanne Fillingham, Deputy CAHPO for England, held a webinar with the Society of Radiographers to discuss supporting the sonography workforce. Particularly, around inviting a support person to accompany women to maternity scans.
