Mammography APs: Discuss topics that matter to you

30 May, 2019

Mammography assistant/associate practitioners (APs) are invited to the Symposium Mammographicum 2020 (SM2020) to take part in a session dedicated to their role.

It is a great opportunity to have your say on topics you would like raised, discussed or debated.

With the important part played by APs in the breast imaging/breast screening service, the organising committee of SM2020 and the SCoR have set up an exclusive session to help professionals learn more about their role and the opportunities within it.

The committee would like to hear from APs who would like to discuss any of the following topics, or anything not covered here that is of interest to them:

  • Are you happy with your role and would you like to share some of your positive experiences?
  • Are you working outside of your scope of practice and left feeling frustrated?
  • Do you feel that you want to do more but feel like the opportunity is not there?
  • Are you involved in audits, research, service improvement, etc and feel you could share your experience with your peers?
  • Has your role evolved with the needs of your unit, but it has not been recognised?

The symposium will take place on the 21-23 June 2020 in Harrogate and is a great opportunity to mix and meet with peers.

There will also be opportunities to try out the latest technology being demonstrated by exhibitors.

APs should contact Marilyn O’Connell, conference organising committee, for more information and to express their interest.
