New campaign in Scotland to recruit more diverse workforce

11 December, 2019

The Scottish government have launched a campaign to inform high-school children about healthcare career options including therapeutic and diagnostic radiography.

The aims of the campaign are to:
- Promote career opportunities to build a sustainable workforce
- Recruit a more diverse workforce with a particular focus on male applicants and candidates from disadvantaged communities, people from ethnic minorities, and people with disabilities

“The overarching objective is to ensure we can meet current and future service level demands with a diverse healthcare workforce,” the campaign states.

“We are asking pupils one simple question: 'What did you do today?' and revealing the many healthcare roles that they could be doing tomorrow.”

There is a promotional video on YouTube and webpages for therapeutic radiography or diagnostic radiography. There are also stakeholder resources - posters and social media.
