Northern Ireland ballot: Members urged to check details before the vote

Member details must be updated by Monday 28 July 2023

Health and social care staff in Northern Ireland are still without a pay offer for 2022/23 and a formal ballot of SoR members on industrial action will commence in August/September, and take place over a four-week period.

The move follows an initial member consultation in May 2023, in which SoR members working in health and social care in Northern Ireland responded with over 91% saying they wanted to be formally balloted for strike action.

Cora Regan, SoR National Officer for Northern Ireland, urged members to check that their personal information was up to date: "Members should ensure their membership details are correct or they risk not receiving a ballot paper or their completed ballot paper being rendered invalid".

Formal ballot papers will be posted soon and members need to ensure their address, mobile number, email, employer details, and job title etc are correct by Monday 28 July 2023.

Cora added: "Ballot papers will be sent to the address they registered with the SoR and they will be balloted for the workplace they registered with, so it's essential that they are correct".
