Welcome to the first day of Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month (MUAM) for 2019.

The first time we organised this month of celebration of all things ultrasound was in October last year, following the example set by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in the USA.

We published an ultrasound related article, story or feature on each working day of the month, a total of 23. We were successful in doing so thanks to your contributions, which included an interesting and wide range of articles, features and stories relating to ultrasound and the work of sonographers.

We were also able to include an article on baking a MUAM cake that would have impressed Mary Berry and a specially commissioned ultrasound ghost story for Halloween. The articles
and stories from last year can be found here

For the month of October 2019 we will again be highlighting ultrasound news and stories and how sonographers contribute so much to diagnosis and treatment.

There will be a wide variety of articles from a broad selection of authors, including a specially commissioned ultrasound poem.

We will share as much as we can on social media, using the #MUAM hastag, in addition to publishing a new article, story or feature on all weekdays in October on the SCoR website.

We would very much like to hear from you if you have any ultrasound related stories, successes, awards, adventures or just general information that you would like to share.

Perhaps you have a hobby or interest that could form the basis of an ultrasound related story?

How to build a Lego ultrasound machine, knit a MUAM jumper or cardigan, or plant an ultrasound themed herbaceous border perhaps?

Please let Gill Harrison or myself know and we will get back to you.
