Updated guidance on working in partnership with patients and the public is now available, and members are encouraged to attend an online webinar to understand the guidance.
The second edition of ‘APartnership between Patients, Practitioners and the Public within Imaging and Radiotherapy Services: Guiding Principles’ (4Ps) document was launched by the College of Radiographers at UKIO 2026.
In order to support radiographers to work in partnership with patients and the public, meet patient expectations of healthcare services, and deliver high-quality care, the SoR is hosting a webinar to provide an overview of what has changed and why.
Taking place on 8 July, from 7pm-8pm, this webinar is free for all SoR members and targeted at anyone in clinical practice, leadership, education or research roles. Student radiographers and apprentices, assistant practitioners and support workers are particularly welcome.
The session will give examples of how the guidance can be used in clinical practice, education and/or research, as well as showing how this guidance can support service development and quality improvement work.
Emma Hyde, head of education and research at the SoR, said: “As a project lead, it has been a privilege to steer the development of the second edition of the guiding principles, also known as the 4Ps.”
The updated guidance is the result of a year of collaboration between members of the College of Radiographers’ Patient Advisory Group, SoR members and SoR staff.
The interactive, digital-first nature of the guidance means that it will be a live and evolving document, and the SoR will add new resources to the guidance as they become available.
Also being launched is a 4Ps Champion scheme, a community of practice made up of radiographers passionate about improving partnership working to ensure the delivery of high-quality care in imaging and radiotherapy services.
