Appeal to find the first African radiographer

The Young Historians Project (YHP) is appealing for information about May W Tomkins, a South African radiographer who qualified in 1932 and was trained by Kitty Clark.

YHP is a not-for-profit organisation which encourages the development of young historians of African and Caribbean heritage in Britain.

The latest project studying the experiences of African women and the British health service c1930-2000. The objective is to produce a short film and exhibition.
