Hello, my name is Alison Hewitt, and I am a senior rotational radiographer.
The moment I am most proud of in my career is winning second place (out of 17 nominees) in the DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) category at the recent Caribbean Global Awards. The Caribbean Global Awards (CGA) is an annual event that celebrates excellence within the Caribbean community and its diaspora, recognising outstanding individuals and businesses across various sectors.
The event fosters unity, collaboration, and networking, showcasing achievements and reflecting Caribbean culture, history, and heritage. Hosted in the UK, the CGA brings together leaders, innovators, and influencers to acknowledge significant accomplishments and strengthen connections within the global community.
Its purpose is to honour achievements and excellence among Caribbean individuals and businesses globally. It also aims to build unity and strengthen diaspora links with communities in Africa and Latin America.
The awards highlight the rich culture, heritage, and diversity of the Caribbean on a global stage and provide a platform for leaders, influencers, and businesses to connect and collaborate.
Sponsorship offers opportunities for businesses to partner with the event and gain global exposure.
The CGA is an established, annual gala dinner event with high demand for tickets.
Caribbean Global Awards Ltd is the UK-registered company behind the event, and the Caribbean Council is a host of the event, while the Caribbean and African Health Network (CAHN) a partner in the celebration.
The engagement with patients, the camaraderie of well-adjusted, culturally competent colleagues and the scope of practice branching out into different fields of expertise.
