The shortlist for the prestigious Allied Health Profession (AHP) awards has been announced, with SoR members featuring amongst the nominees.
On Thursday 13 August, the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Awards published the individuals and organisations in the running for 2026 across the eight categories.
Amongst the names are Saraaz Khalil, a member of the SoR Diagnostic Imaging Advisory Group, advanced practitioner Therapeutic Radiography Imogen Hemy, as well as the Society’s LGBTQI+ Equalise Network.
Charlotte Beardmore, executive director of professional policy for SoR, said: “We’re really pleased to see Society of Radiographers members and networks recognised on the shortlist for the 2026 Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Awards. These nominations showcase the fantastic work radiography professionals are doing to support patient care, develop the workforce, drive innovation and promote inclusion across the UK.”
Saraaz has been nominated for the AHP Workforce Transformation Award for his work on digital innovation and inclusive education across the Yorkshire and Northern region.
Imogen is shortlisted for the AHP Innovation and Improvement Awards for leading on a digital education package to improve sexual health and wellbeing for patients following cancer treatment.
SoR’s Equalise Network has been nominated for the AHP Leadership for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award for helping to make the radiography profession more inclusive, supporting staff and championing safer, more dignified care for LGBTQI+ communities.
Charlotte added: “Congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted. It’s great to see radiography represented alongside so many inspiring Allied Health Professional achievements, and we wish all nominees the very best for the awards.”
Hosted by NHS England and the office of the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer, Suzanne Rastrick, the awards celebrate innovation, research and leadership across all 14 Allied Health Professions, including radiography.
Winners will be announced on Allied Health Professions Day, October 14.
