The Annual Radiotherapy Conference (ARC) is calling for abstracts from across the radiotherapy community, offering presenters a national platform tohighlight their work, shape best practice and influence the future of the profession.

ARC brings together professionals from across the oncology workforce for two days of learning, collaboration and sharing innovation. Taking place from 18–19 September 2026 in Birmingham, the event focuses on the theme “Pathways with Purpose”. It will explore the full radiotherapy care pathway from pre‑diagnosis and planning through to treatment delivery and life beyond cancer.

Show case your work at ARC 2026

As part of the programme, the Society of Radiographers is encouraging individuals to submit proffered papers for presentation at the conference. Presenting at ARC offers individuals the opportunity to share research, service improvements, audits, or innovative practice with a national audience.

Successful applicants will be allocated a 10‑minute presentation slot within the main programme and receive presentation support to prepare and deliver their paper with confidence. The experience provides the chance to develop professional visibility as well as form connections with future collaborators at the event.

Abstracts are welcomed across a wide range of topic areas, including:

  • The Front Door: Access, Pathways and First Contact
  • From Scan to Plan: Imaging Quality and Planning Excellence
  • Holding Still, Moving Forward: Motion Management in Practice
  • Care with Purpose: Personalisation, Voice & Outcomes
  • From Good Catch to Great Care: Safety and Quality Improvement that Sticks
  • Going for Gold: Sustainable Radiotherapy
  • Making Every Fraction Count: Delivering Excellence in Practice
  • Real-World Radiotherapy: Complexity, Decision-Making and Solutions
  • Comfort, Confidence, Care: Implementing Supportive Interventions
  • Beyond Treatment: Follow-Up, Late Effects and Supportive Care
  • Leading the Future: Capability, Culture and Care of the Workforce
  • Fair Access, Better Outcomes: Equity Across Radiotherapy

Submitting your abstract

The SoR welcomes submissions from students, assistant practitioners, clinical radiographers, service managers, research radiographers, educators, and other members of the multiprofessional oncology team.

Guidance in drafting your abstract

Earlier this month, the SoR delivered a webinar to demystify the abstract submission process and support SoR members at all stages, from students and first-time authors to experienced professionals. SoR members can watch the webinar recording to understand what makes a strong conference abstract, how to structure an abstract clearly and common pitfalls.

Abstracts must be submitted online by 17:00 on Monday 9 March. All submissions will be anonymously reviewed by the ARC panel and authors selected to deliver their work will be required to attend the conference.
