The Radiotherapy Board’s Environmental Sustainability Working Group, of which the SoR is a leading member, is hosting a webinar on how to green your practice and progress towards a departmental gRTF award.

Rob Chuter, lead of the Radiotherapy Board’s Environmental Sustainability Working Group, and Ahmed Ifthaker, a clinical scientist and medical physics expert at Barts Health NHS Foundation Trust, will lead the webinar, which will provide an introduction to the green Radiotherapy Framework (gRTF).
Participants will hear how Ahmed’s team achieved a gRTF Gold award, and the steps that led to it.
Reducing carbon footprints
The Radiotherapy Board is a collaborative group bringing together representatives from the Society and College of Radiographers, the Royal College of Radiologists, and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine.
The Radiotherapy Board leads the gRTF award to help radiotherapy departments de-carbonise, and enables radiotherapy professionals to take practical steps to reduce carbon emissions.
Under the gRTF, radiotherapy departments can apply to be recognised for their sustainability efforts and receive a Bronze, Silver or Gold award.
