The CoR journal Radiography is inviting applications for the Society and College of Radiographers Editorial Fellowship and the European Federation of Radiographer Societies Editorial Fellowship.
These fellowships are developmental roles for individuals, who might be in clinical, academic or joint clinical-academic roles, and who would like research to be part of their careers.
It is hoped that this initiative will help build knowledge and skills linked to journal editing and will be a source of future members of the International Advisory Board (IAB) and Editorial Board along with editors of Radiography.
The fellowships will provide training in editorial skills, such as manuscript evaluation, the peer review process, manuscript production and publication, and journal outreach.
Fellows will receive training and mentorship from the editor in chief and the associate editors. During the fellowship period, fellows will be required to work on a project that might involve social media initiatives, undertaking audits to support journal activities, journal outreach or research into aspects of publication science.
It is hoped such projects will lead to conference presentations and publications in Radiography. Fellows will become members of the IAB and will be invited to join Editorial Board meetings as observers for the duration of their fellowship.
Fellows will be appointed for a two-year term from June 2023 and will receive an annual honorarium of €500 or £450. In addition, each year fellows will receive support to facilitate their attendance at an international conference where they will be expected to support journal activities. They will also receive a framed fellowship certificate and an individual subscription to Radiography for the duration of their fellowship.
On completing the two-year fellowship, fellows will remain reviewers for the journal and may be invited to continue as members of the IAB.
