The international peer-reviewed scientific journal Radiography is reminding SoR members that its paper call for the next special issue, ‘Image-Guided Interventions: Advances in Practice and Technology’ closes 15 September.
It is inviting submissions that showcase transformative approaches to diagnostics, therapeutics and training, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and setting new standards in minimally invasive radiological and cardiovascular care.
Contributions are being sought from academic investigators, clinical innovators, and industry leaders whose work is redefining interventional radiology and cardiology.
Submissions can focus on pioneering technologies, evidence-based procedural protocols, or strategies to overcome disparities in access.
Interventional cardiology and radiology professionals are redefining the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular, vascular and non-vascular diseases. Advanced imaging modalities and hybrid techniques allow them to achieve precise diagnosis, targeted therapy, and provide real-time assessment.
As technology advances, specialists can employ a growing array of minimally invasive procedures for treating diverse cardiovascular and vascular conditions.
Over the past two decades, innovation has propelled interventional procedures further and further forward – but alongside this rapid evolution, the field faces critical challenges: ensuring continued workforce training in ever-advancing techniques, integrating AI-driven decision support into clinical workflows, and maintaining equitable access to life-saving interventions across diverse healthcare settings.
Addressing these challenges demands collaborative efforts in research, education, and clinical practice. Radiography is seeking to explore these challenges through, for example, novel imaging device interfaces, refining AI algorithms for lesion characterisation and outcome prediction, and developing training paradigms that balance simulator-based learning with hands-on mentorship.
Those interested in becoming involved can contact any of this issue’s special editors to inquire about the appropriateness of potential topics at [email protected].
The journal’s submission platform is now available for receiving submissions to this Special Issue.
All the submissions deemed suitable to be sent for peer review will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
