The Spring 2026 edition of SoR’s official Continuing Personal Development journal, Insight, is now available.

Insight gives radiographers the chance to write about career and educational subjects with an impact on clinical roles.

The latest edition of the journal features spotlight articles and case studies, focusing on topics such as emotional labour in healthcare management, a mammography service development study, and a breakdown of methods for improving informed consent in radiotherapy.

'A promising beginning'

Editorial Board member, Gemma Spelman, said: “It has been a privilege to provide feedback to authors on their outstanding studies.

"The first edition of 2026 is a strong and promising beginning, with research being undertaken in pertinent topics, from emotional labour to informed consent.

“I am truly excited to see more of the innovative and impactful research that will be published throughout the year ahead.”

Highlights include:

  • Informed consent in radiotherapy
  • Managing stress and protecting emotional well-being
  • Mammographic image quality
  • The empathy switch
  • Insights from the peer review process

The Spring edition also features a reviewer’s perspective on the peer review process, a case study on the impact of imaging practice educators, and insights from a clinical lead.

Readers can also find a record of chest reporting radiographers’ experience of the radiology abnormality detection system (RADS) used for suspected lung cancer.
