Members can also hear Vafa Taleban, a radiographer turned personal development coach, give her perspective on the importance of self-understanding and collaborative thinking. This month’s Synergy also explores the work of Jackie Matthew and the team at Fraiya in developing an AI fetal ultrasound device.
This month, the SoR is celebrating Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month, highlighting the often-unsung work of sonographers with perspectives from the SoR’s Ultrasound Advisory Group.
Course leaders from the University of Cumbria’s diagnostic radiography apprenticeship – which recently won an award for being one of the most comprehensive in the country – share their perspectives on the importance of developing apprenticeship programmes.
Meanwhile, four graduates of the society’s student leadership placement explain that the path to a career in radiography can be winding and uncertain, but the support of the SoR is invaluable along the way.
Morag Stout, clinical lead for Scotland’s National Ultrasound Training Programme, also reflects on the successes and challenges that came alongside the scheme, and why it’s so important to create a supportive and empowering culture.
