Scotland NHS pay deal worth at least 9% over three years

The Scottish Government has announced that the pay deal will result in at least a 9% increase in pay for most NHS staff.

The deal has been agreed with unions through the STAC negotiating body and will include reform of the AfC pay scales similar to those agreed in the pay offer for staff working in NHS England.

Full details of the pay offer will be published later this week but staff at the top of the pay scales will realise a pay increase of 9% by 1 April 2020.

Further, staff will reach the top of the pay scales quicker during the transition period and on the new shorter pay scale.

Deborah Shepherd, Scottish National Officer said, “We welcome the Scottish pay deal which will result in staff receiving at least a 9% increase in salary by 2021.

"Scottish members will now be consulted on the pay offer during July.”
