The 100th anniversary of the Society of Radiographers was celebrated on 6 August 2020 and to mark the moment, members could apply for one of only 100 badges of a special limited edition design. Within minutes of opening for applications, the Society tweeted that they had been overwhelmed with responses.
Radiographers from across the spectrum of the profession have been receiving their badges over recent weeks, from students to senior radiographers and past President of the Society Gareth Thomas.
Many members took to social media to show off their badges, including senior radiographer Nick Yule, from the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil. ‘It’s a wonderful milestone for the Society’, said Nick.
‘It’s not everyday you can celebrate 100 years and the badge is a way that I can join in the celebrations. It’s also a great memory from the SoR and something to look back on.‘
