Strategic leadership

As chief executive, Charlotte will lead delivery of the SoR’s current strategic framework, Vision for Our Profession, which sets a clear direction for the organisation and the wider radiography workforce. The strategy is focused on four interconnected priorities:

Membership: empowering and supporting radiography professionals at every career stage, expanding representation, and strengthening engagement across the profession.

Workforce:nurturing talent, advancing education and career development, addressing workforce sustainability, and supporting new and evolving roles.

Profession:driving innovation, research, and the responsible adoption of new technologies (including AI), while advocating for excellence, quality, and recognition of radiography.

Patients: championing patient-centred care, amplifying patient voices, and ensuring that radiography continues to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate healthcare.

Under Charlotte’s leadership, the Society will continue to advocate strongly for radiographers, shape policy and standards, influence the healthcare agenda in the UK and internationally, and ensure that the profession remains well-placed to meet future challenges and opportunities.

Next steps

Transition arrangements will be communicated in due course. In the meantime, we congratulate  Charlotte on this well-deserved appointment and look forward to her leadership as chief executive of the Society of Radiographers.
