Let the celebrations begin for #WRD2021!

World Radiography Day is on 8 November and we have five fantastic posters to help you celebrate

There is not long to go until World Radiography Day, held on 8 November each year to mark the anniversary of Wilhelm Röntgen’s discovery of X-rays in 1895.

World Radiography Day provides a unique opportunity to promote radiography as a career, its vital contribution to modern healthcare, and to increase public awareness of diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy.

The Society of Radiographers, founded in 1920, is one of the oldest radiography organisations in the world, dedicated to empowering radiography professionals at the heart of patient care.

And while 2021 has not provided many reasons to celebrate, we want to encourage you to share the successes of the profession and help others to understand the important work that you do. It’s a great opportunity to talk to patients and carers, students and colleagues about all that our profession offers.

This year’s posters really showcase the breadth of work covered by radiography professionals and celebrate the teamwork that binds you together, raising awareness of radiography during an incredibly challenging time. Thanks to everyone who entered this year.

Don’t forget to request your free #WRD2021 pack including the five winning posters, stickers and pens, to help get your celebrations off to a great start. Complete the form here.

Please display your posters proudly on 8 November to mark the day and we look forward to seeing your celebratory activities. Please share your celebrations with the radiography community by joining the online conversation and using the hashtag #WRD2021 on social media.

We hope you enjoy celebrating this special day with us.
