The SoR is inviting members from the North West region to apply for a seat on the UK Council.

Nominations for the North West seat on SoR Council are open now, and members can submit their applications through the online form.

The election for the North West seat on UK Council, which shapes the strategic direction of the SoR, will then take place in November. Voting will be open to eligible SoR members.

Nominations are welcomed from members across the radiotherapy and imaging professions and those with a broad range of career backgrounds, ages, ethnicities and disabilities.

'Strong, democratic and well-governed'

Charlotte Beardmore, CEO of the SoR, said: “The SoR exists for members and is run by members, ensuring we stay strong, democratic and well governed for the long-term success of our union and professional body.”

The successful nominee will receive an induction, training and mentoring in the skills required to serve on the council. They are expected to attend approximately six council meetings a year, with virtual attendance generally welcome, and to participate actively in council discussions.

Council members serve a three-year term with the option to stand for up to two further terms.

Anyone putting themselves forward for the role must be a full member in the North West region.

To apply, complete the online nomination form by midday on 30 October and include details of four members from the region who support your nomination, and an election address outlining your experience and suitability for the role.

For more information – including guidance on writing an election address, information on roles and responsibilities and details of how to apply – read the online nomination form here.
