Our privacy policy is changing

The SoR has updated its privacy policy, switching to electronic communication as the primary method of contacting members

Published: 30 March 2023 SoR

We have updated our privacy policy, switching to electronic communication as the primary method of contacting members about all membership matters. This change is aimed at reducing our environmental impact and minimising waste.

By using digital channels such as email and text messaging, we aim to get you key information and updates quickly and effectively, while also reducing our use of paper and postage.

Digital Synergy

As an organisation we are embracing a digital first approach to ensure we make greener decisions. We aim to be responsible when it comes our paper consumption, and going digital with Synergy will be a key step in becoming more sustainable.

Digital Synergy will go live in May and all members will receive the publication directly to their inbox.

Text messages

From April onwards, we will also regularly use SMS messaging to alert you to key updates particularly around employment support and advocacy matters.

To get started, an introductory text message will be sent to members with a valid mobile number on 30th March 2023. Members who do not receive an SMS are requested to log in to their account to check their mobile number and complete it if missing.

Updating your details

Members are asked to ensure their email address, mobile number, and workplace are up to date so that you can receive regular communications from the SoR. To support this change, we have notified members by email and, where no email is available, we will send the update by post.
