Secondment: SoR radiotherapy simulation champion

Apply now to build national guidance on simulation activities

Published: 27 September 2021 SoR

The SoR is looking to recruit a project partner, a Radiotherapy Simulation Champion, to work together with one of the champions who led the SoR HEE RePAIR project over the past six months.

That project reported clear evidence to support production of national guidance on simulation activities to support the delivery of pre-registration education and training with therapeutic radiography across the UK.

The next part of the programme is to take forward this recommendation and to develop guidance to support the recommendation.

This secondment will be on a part-time, eight-month contract, ideally starting in November 2021. Key aspects of this work will be to consult with education providers, clinical practitioners and students, through workshops, developing consensus statements building on the evidence base, (using Delphi methodology) to build guidance to enable the use of simulation to be optimised to support and enhance student learning.

The champion will also liaise with external stakeholders, such as the HCPC and HEE leads, to consider views, and to produce professional body guidance document on the use of simulation within pre-registration therapeutic radiography education and training programmes providing recommendations to education and training providers, and to the Approvals and Accreditation Board of the College of Radiographers.

Who we are looking for

As this is a highly specialised role, recognised expertise and leadership in Therapeutic Radiography education is essential. You must have recent work experience at a higher education institution and have existing registration with the HCPC or other regulatory body and be a member of the SoR.
The closing date for applications is midday 13 October 2021.
