The SoR have had a number of enquiries about the correct pay rates for the Christmas and New Year period, which is complicated by the usual Bank Holidays all falling over weekends.
The SoR expect AfC terms to be used for supporting NHS service provision over the extended Bank Holiday period between Saturday December 25 and Tuesday December 28 2021.
What you need to know:
- Working up to 2 of the Bank Holiday dates = 2 x Bank Holiday pay rate plus 2 days TOIL
- Each additional Bank Holiday dates above 2 = Pay at Bank Holiday rate without TOIL with 1 maximum Sunday enhancement
- Saturday 1 January 2022 – provisions for work on BH apply. Anyone working January 1 and 3 will be entitled to a max of one public holiday TOIL
- Anyone working 1, 2 and 3 January will be entitled to one public holiday and one Sunday.
