Ahead of a meeting with the Secretary of State for Health and Social care, and the resumption of NHS pay talks following a long delay, SoR have joined the call for the investment needed to make fair pay in the NHS a reality.
SoR and 14 health unions, have called for the government to properly invest in reforming Agenda for Change.
Dean Rogers, the SoR's Director of Industrial Strategy and Member Relations, said:
"Fair pay for our members, and all NHS staff, is the first step in ensuring safe and effective patient care in every setting, and a health service fit for the future. Talks have to happen with the understanding that new funding will be on the table to deliver the change we need.
Radiographers are critical to delivering better outcomes for patients and achieving ambitious NHS Improvement targets. Too many are leaving the NHS alongside thousands of other NHS staff who are losing faith that they will be awarded fair and competitive pay. We demand a pay award that is commensurate with their value and recognises their vital role.
"The NHS' 10-year plan aspires to make the NHS 'the country's best employer'. The Health Secretary must ensure there is no further delay in addressing these issues in order to restore pay and staff trust."
Negotiations on the NHS Agenda for Change pay structure begin again this week, but were first promised more than 18 months ago.
