In a bid to address the significant exodus of over 30,000 NHS employees last year citing work-life balance issues, the Society of Radiographers has partnered with other NHS unions to launch a new campaign - Let’s #TalkAboutFlex.

Flexible working for all

Leandre Archer, SoR Head of Industrial Relations and a key member of the Let’s #TalkAboutFlex campaign working group, stated, "It's imperative that we address the pressing issues of burnout and low morale among NHS colleagues. The campaign aims to break the cycle of vacancies and escalating workloads by advocating for the adoption of flexible working practices."

Leandre continued, "Flexible working isn't a luxury reserved for specific roles or responsibilities within the NHS; it's a fundamental tool for all employees to manage their commitments and wellbeing effectively. By embracing flexibility, we can create a healthier work-life balance and improve both staff satisfaction and patient care."

Get involved

SoR members are encouraged to contribute their own experiences, whether successful examples of flexible arrangements or instances where outdated norms have hindered flexibility, via email at [email protected] or by engaging in discussions on social media using the hashtag #TalkAboutFlex.
