King’s College London and the Society of Radiographers are asking sonographers and ultrasound practitioners to participate in a survey about the range of practice for first trimester pregnancy screening scans in the UK.
SoR members, particularly those working in ultrasound, are invited to take part in the survey.
The survey - which is available here - was created by a team of clinical sonographers, doctors and researchers from King’s College London. It aims to outline how practice varies in relation to routine dating ultrasound scans in the first trimester of pregnancy, which check how far along a pregnancy is and how a baby is developing. The survey should take around 5-8 minutes to complete and participation is completely voluntary.
One randomly drawn participant will receive a £100 John Lewis voucher. However, participants can choose not to provide their email address.
The findings from the survey may be shared in publications and presentations, and will be used to support ongoing research studies. Only the researchers from Kings College London will have access to the data gathered by the questionnaire, which will be stored in line with data protection regulations. Submitted emails will be stored separately from participants’ questionnaire answers, which will remain anonymous.
Questions about the survey should be directed to Dr. Thomas Day ([email protected]). Answers must be submitted by Sunday 5 October.
In November last year, King’s College London and the SoR collaborated to launch two surveys for workforce support workers and radiography service managers.
The collaboration project saw King’s College London and the SoR embark on an NHS project with the aim of creating resources for those working in the support workforce and their managers. The questionnaires were designed to collect data from these two groups.
Sue Johnson, the SoR’s professional officer for clinical imaging, led the project.
