SoR Learner’s Network update with opportunities for membership

Both the learner poster competition and a survey on radiography societies are accessible now for members to find out more

Members of the Society’s Learner’s Network can now access updated opportunities via the SoR website for more info on the network’s poster competition and a survey on radiography societies.

Learners can also join the Society’s monthly Learner Network Meeting on 15 June for updates, CPD content, peer support, campaigns and opportunities, and direct access to the SoR’s student and new professionals officer.

These opportunities give all student and apprentice members the opportunity to participate in the activities of the network, which supports them to step up their professional activity and join a like-minded community of learners.

Support, outreach and resources

Nichola Browne, students and new professionals officer at the SoR, said: “Opportunities like the Learner Network poster competition and the RadSoC survey show just how powerful our members’ voices are. Positive engagement from learners directly shapes how the Society of Radiographers designs its support, outreach, and resources—ensuring they truly reflect the needs of our members.

“I would strongly encourage all learners to take part, whether by submitting a creative poster and/or completing the survey. By getting involved, you’re not only showcasing your ideas and talent—you’re helping us build stronger, more responsive support for university radiography societies now and in the future.”

Learner members from across the SoR have been invited to design a poster that will help promote the Network to their peers. This poster should acknowledge all pathways to becoming a Radiographer: undergraduate, post-graduate, and apprentice.

The winning design will be published as a digital poster, available for download, and will be promoted at the start of the 2026/27 academic year. Themes and ideas from the winning poster and other commendable designs may be used to feed into branding collateral for the Learner Network.

To ensure compliance with SoR brand guidelines, the winning poster may be edited. Members may submit one design for consideration by 11.59pm on 28 June 2026 here.

SoR learners are also being called upon to participate in the RadSoC Research survey, which seeks to discover the distribution of dedicated radiography societies across the university landscape and whether members would be interested in establishing one with SoR support.

This survey comes as part of efforts to improve the support and resources offered to radiography societies and clubs within HEIs. Members can submit responses to the survey online here.

Deadline for response to the survey is 15 July.
