Survey opens on radiographers’ assessment of imaging referrals

SoR recommends members respond to influence international opinion

A PhD project which has been acknowledged by international radiological bodies and societies has opened a survey on how radiographers can contribute to appropriate imaging.

Members of the Society of Radiographers are encouraged to take a few minutes to answer the survey here: Radiographers' assessment of imaging referrals survey.

The research focuses on the radiographer’s role in the evaluation of referrals for diagnostic imaging, and has the potential to influence international opinion in this area.

The research was due to feature at a pre-conference workshop at the ISRRT World Congress this year which has now been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It also featured in a research hub at the European Congress of Radiology 2019 which focused on radiographers’ competency in referral assessments.

The PhD project at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) has been developed alongside a masters programme in justification and skill mix at the University of College Dublin (UCD) and approved by IAEA, EFERS and ISRRT.
