New pay offer for radiographers in Wales - SoR members asked to vote now

SoR recommends acceptance of improved offer following earlier strike threat

New pay talks with the Welsh government have resulted in a revised package around non-pay elements of the original offer to radiographers.

SoR members in Wales had rejected that offer by an overwhelming number and called for a ballot on strike action. The Welsh government then agreed to re-open talks with the SoR on the proviso that the Society paused balloting.

These talks have resulted in a new offer around non-pay elements of the original offer with the aim to improve Terms and Conditions of Service within the NHS in Wales and for radiographers.

The SoR has emailed members in Wales recommending they accept this new offer. The Society will be tracking the progress of the non-pay offer commitments and members will be balloted on strike action if they do not come to fruition.

The offer in Wales differs to that in England because Wales has an additional ongoing 1.5% consolidated payment and a commitment by the Welsh Government for pay restoration in line with 2008. Review the original Wales offer here.

The consultation survey will be open until Wednesday 30 August 2023.
