Nominations have officially opened for the SoR’s prestigious Rep of the Year Award.
Each year, the society celebrates the outstanding achievements of its trade union representatives, who support their colleagues and help shape radiography for the better.
Entries for the 2025 Rep of the Year opened on Wednesday (3 December), and the winners will be crowned at the SoR’s Annual Delegates Conference in London next April.
Winners will be crowned from each SoR region, and an overall winner will then be selected.
CEO of the society, Richard Evans, said: “Do you know a SoR rep who’s making an outstanding contribution to our profession?
“Now’s your chance to shine a spotlight on their incredible work.
“By doing so, you’ll help us celebrate the individuals whose efforts are positively transforming departments, supporting colleagues and shaping the radiography profession.”
Rep of the Year is open to any accredited SoR health and safety reps, industrial relations reps or union learning reps. The nominee and the nominator must both be current SoR members.
Winners are chosen by the SoR’s regional committees.
Last year’s Rep of the Year award went to Samantha Kemp from London, for her unwavering commitment and inspiring leadership.”
There will also be prizes on offer: £100 to the Regional Rep of the Year winners and then £250 to the one overall UK Rep of the Year, selected from the regional winners.
Nominations must be made by a colleague or peer and individuals who have received the awards within the past five years are not eligible for nomination.
The deadline for entries is midnight on 31 December 2025.
Awards will be handed out at the 2026 SoR Annual Delegates Conference, which will take place in the Novotel London West in Hammersmith, West London from 27-29 April.
