The 1st Scottish CT Virtual Colonography Academy - Radiographer Day
Tuesday 24th March 2020
Venue: Edinburgh Training and Conference Centre, 16 St Mary's Street, Edinburgh EH1 1SU
We would like to invite you to a one day workshop aimed at Radiographers, with an interest in Cross section and G.I imaging. The course will provide key background principles and tips on the practice of CT Virtual Colonography via two lectures and 11-15 specifically selected CT Colon cases. With past experience at delivering these courses to Radiographer colleagues in Northern Ireland, Liverpool and Derby, with excellent feedback, Dr Eason utilises his experience as senior Faculty on National and International CT Colonography training Academies and many thousands of CTC reads to methodically pass on experience of scan technique and acquisition, tricks and pitfalls and demonstrate real CTC case pathology.
The course offers Radiographers a chance to get to grips with scan analysis and using the workstations in a friendly and open environment. The course will cover a range of routine and more complex CTC findings and will challenge the novice and the experienced CTC / barium Radiographer alike but with the goal of all delegates leaving with a enriched understanding of the role of CTC within their own department. Topics covered will include, traditional and newer trends of colorectal cancer and polyp disease, anatomy, tagging and bowel preparation, polyp description and statistical size significance as well as, what makes a good CTC scan. These topics will be discussed in lectures and reinforced in the hands-on cases using dedicated workstations. There will be no more than three delegates to one workstation and each case review will be walked through by Dr Eason and his team via a projected workstation.
