In 2016 the AHPs into Action strategy produced by NHS England identified the transformative potential of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) in health, social care and wellbeing, and provided a framework demonstrating how the third largest workforce in the NHS could support this work. The lifespan of this strategy expires in 2021/2022.
In February 2021 AHPs Listen was launched by the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer for England, Suzanne Rastrick. This is a project to refresh the AHPs into Action strategy, ensuring citizen voice is central to the design process as directed by the NHS Long Term Plan (2019).
It is important for the new strategy to take account of the significant impact of COVID-19 for patients, the NHS and social care, and the role of AHPs. The new strategy will need to embrace all that has been experienced and learned as a result of a global pandemic. This session will provide an overview of the project, and the importance of hearing the voices of citizens and Allied Health Professionals including diagnostic and therapeutic radiographers, as we look to the future. The session will include a presentation and a question and answer opportunity as the AHPs Listen project team prepare to launch the second online conversation for professionals.
Booking deadline: 15 April | 17:00. Please note after this date/time, your booking will not be approved. If the session is being recorded and you are an SoR member, you will be able to access it via the RADIATE hub afterwards.
