Course Description:

Are you new to MRI scanning? This module has been created to provide learners with the skills and core knowledge that underpins the competence required for safe supervised practice of MRI scanning for their first post in MRI.

✅Learn how to operate MRI equipment competently and safely whilst complying with, and being specifically aware of, MRI safety, legislation and emergency procedures.

✅Explore different aspects of MRI physics, scan time parameters, image acquisition and the fundamentals of scanner hardware/coil technology to ensure effective imaging.

✅Evaluate MRI images to learn to differentiate between normal and abnormal anatomy and pathological appearances relative to defined anatomical regions for common MRI scans.       

✅Perform effective, compassionate care in a non-discriminatory, culturally sensitive manner recognising differences in patient needs when undergoing MRI examinations.

✅Critically evaluate MRI workflows and their importance to the healthcare system.
