Course Description:
Are you new to CT scanning? This module has been created to provide learners with the skills, core knowledge and understanding which underpins the competence required for safe supervised practice for the range of Computed Tomography (CT) examinations encountered post-qualification.
✅Learn to operate CT equipment competently and safely whilst complying with, and being specifically aware of, radiation protection, safety and legislation.
✅Critically analyse CT physics, scanning parameters, image acquisition and the fundamentals of scanner hardware to ensure optimal image quality.
✅Critically evaluate CT images to be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal anatomy, and pathological appearances, relative to defined anatomical regions, for common CT scans.
✅Perform effective, compassionate care in a non-discriminatory, culturally sensitive manner reognising differences in patient needs when undergoing CT examinations.
✅Evaluate CT workflows and their importance to the healthcare system.
